Studying at the School

  • How much does it cost to study at the School?

All students enjoy free tuition. You can apply to the Albéniz Foundation for a scholarship that covers 100% of the cost of enrollment which amounts to € 45,000 per year, an amount equivalent to the average cost of a student's studies per academic year. The initial granting of this aid is conditional on the signing and acceptance of the specific conditions of this scholarship.

The scholarship is annual, and can be renewed, which will be awarded based on the academic and artistic development of the student, as well as their respect for the code of conduct.

The only payment that they will have to assume is 1,200 euros for the reservation of a place.

  • What study programmes are offered?

The School offers various degrees, both official and not accredited.

The official degrees are the Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Music.

The not accredited programmes are Preliminary Studies, Diploma in Musical Interpretation (or Composition) and Diploma in Advanced Orchestra Conducting Studies.

You can find all the information about the different programmes in the section on School Curriculum.

  • Can I take only the performance classes? Are there any other compulsory classes?

The official study plans (Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree) require that the student take the specific subjects in a timely manner.

The School's not accredited plans are adapted to the unique circumstances of each student, resulting in an individual study program.

Attendance at all scheduled classes is mandatory.

  • Are the classes in Spanish and English?

The official language of the school is Spanish.

To study official degrees (Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree), a sufficient command of the language will be necessary to be able to pass the contents required by the study plan.

In cases where the level of Spanish is not adequate and a place has been obtained, a year of Preliminary Studies may be offered to facilitate the student's adaptation to teaching in this language.

Instrumental subjects can be taught in Spanish or English (in exceptional circumstances an interpreter may be available).
