Álvaro Moreno Miguel

Born in Madrid, Spain, in 2001. Since 2023, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Unidad Editorial Double Bass Chair with professor Wies de Boevé. He has been granted scholarships by Consejeria de Educación, Universidades y Ciencia de la Comunidad de Madrid and Fundación Albéniz.

He began his musical training at the Joaquín Turina Conservatory, where he obtained the end-of-degree prize with professor Rafael de Frías. In 2022, he finished the higher degree under the guidance of Guillermo Sánchez Lluch, Julio Pastor, and Luis Cabrera. During his training he has attended masterclasses by international prestigious professors, like Karen Martirossian, Vitan Ivanov, Antonio García Araque, Carlos Navarro, George Amorim, Laura Asensio, Joaquín Arrabal, Jorge Martínez, Rodrigo Moro, Antonio Torres y Philipp Stubenrauch.

As a soloist, he performed Dittersdorf’s Concerto in E major and Bottesini’s Gran Duo Concertante for violin and double bass. He is currently part of Spain’s Youth National Orchestra. He participates in ensembles such as Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra and Fundación ORCAM. Additionally, he has performed in prestigious venues, like the Royal Theatre, the National Auditorium, the Palau de la Musica, the Auditorium of Zaragoza and the Miguel Delibes Auditorium. Likewise, he combines his musical activity with his piano studies.

As a student of the School, he has performed with the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Péter Csaba, and he is currently a member of the Unidad Editorial Dittersdorf Double Bass Quartet.
